Situated at the northern periphery of the Isle of Lewis, within the crofting community of Ness, Tom Gorm [Gaelic: 'green hillock'] lies in the heart of a Gaelic speaking crofting community with its own unique social and cultural traditions.
Famous Ness landmarks include the Butt of Lewis lighthouse; Dun Eistean - the ancestral island home of the Morrison Clan; and the 19th century fishing harbour at Port of Ness.  The Ness community is also famous for its annual guga hunt to the isle of Sula Sgeir, where a set number of young gannet birds are culled each year and salted to produce a traditional delicacy that has been consumed by generations of Nisich - Ness people.
