Tom Gorm bed & breakfast is a family owned business run by Catriona Thomson and her husband, Norman, who returned ‘home’ to Ness several years ago after living and working for many years on mainland Scotland

The B&B is set in the most northerly district of the Western Isles, in the Gaelic speaking community of Ness in the Isle of Lewis.  Following recent extensive renovations and refurbishment of the property, our rooms meet the highest standards of quality and comfort for our guests

All rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to offer an enjoyable and worthwhile experience to guests.

Tom Gorm has 3 guest rooms available for use throughout the year, including: a Double Room ('An Cambar') and a Twin Room ('Am Baile'), both with ensuite facilities on the first floor.  There is also a Double Room ('Grianan') situated on the ground floor, which has a separate bathroom.

Evening meals are also available for guests by prior arrangement

Located in the Gaelic speaking community of Ness, in the north of the Isle of Lewis, our Bed & Breakfast is about 25 miles (approx. 40 minutes drive) from the main town of Stornoway, which has excellent ferry and air transport links between the island and mainland Scotland.

Though rural in setting, with stunning land and seascapes, beautiful sandy beaches, wild natural moorland and unique coastal machair lands that are ideal for walking and birdwatching, Ness also offers a range of modern amenities and public facilities to further enhance the enjoyment of your visit.

These include: a new £1.6 million sports and leisure centre [to be opened shortly]; a swimming pool; local museum; several Post Offices; licensed premises and restaurant; grocery and hardware stores; mobile shops; twice weekly mobile banking; petrol station and crafts outlets, as well as organised events and activities that regularly take place within the community.  For additional peace of mind and for visitors who may have health concerns, a modern GP practice/health clinic is situated about 100 yards from our premises.
